I really agree, especially that Rainbird makes a superior product. We have been installing sprinkler systems for over 20 years and refuse to use anything else.

The Rainbird 5000 series are an excellent rotor; super sturdy, last a long time and are easy to adjust.

I have a Rain Bird controler and Torro control valves. The system is 8 yrs old. The other day I had a problem with the front yard (zone 1) not turning off. Then several weeks later zone 4 would not shut off. Then the system started working without any problems. I turned it on and after zone 2 turned off the next zones never came on even though the controler showed that it was running. I disconected the rain sensor but the system still would not turn on. Help..Do I need a new controler or do you think the zone one control valve needs to be replaced. I can not get any of the zones to work at this time.

We have a backflow regulator that keeps going off when a certain zone comes on line. There is not a slope in the yard that would cause the water to drain out of the line. The zone beside the one in question is in the front yard also and has no problems when it comes on line. I understand the pressure differential from the inlet and outlet of the backflow regulator would cause the problem. We dont see any spots where water could be leaking on the discharge of the hunter valve or around the hunter rotors after the valve shuts off. You can manually close the discharge of the backflow regulator and slowly open it and the problem will go away. We are watering every other day so the line has time to go empty.

You may have a bad master valve that you will need to replace or it could be a cut wire going to the master valve that needs repaired. You will need to locate the master valve (rent a valve locator from SprinklerWarehouse.com) and use a Pro-48K Solenoid Activator Kit to test the valve and the wiring from the controller to the valve.

Water flow stops at the master valve any helpful tips to correct.? ( I was told initially there was a problem with the main water valve into the system (replaced old one: was working after inspections)

Thanks, but mine is the 521, not the 521A. The 521A is a different locator – they are not the same. I appreciate your help, but if you could get that one (the 521), it would be great.

Can you help me with instructions or just talk me through using a 521 ( not 521A) valve locator by TEMPO?
I was loaned one without instructions. I have a good idea, but someone who has done it will help immensely. You can call me day or night — need to know ASAP.
