One of my valves bangs and wont open till I open the bleeder screw; when I close it it stops running, or it stays running when cycled to the next valve. It’s a new valve and the only one that malfunctioning.
bobcollins,
Top of my head I don’t have a good answer. I would suspect pressure but not sure.
Post this at http://www.sprinklertalk.com/wbb/index.php?page=Index under Control Valves. This is our online forum and a number of very experienced people cover it. You’ll have some ideas fairly quickly.
Thanks.
I live on a 7 1/2 acre site with a long driveway. I would like to install a poly (irrigation line ) near my house to a flower bed by our entrance. Are there fittings available to mate a 3/4 poly line to a hose (on both ends) for watering ?
Your adapters will be noted at FHT or MHT, for Male Hose Thread or Female Hose Thread. Most poly fittings I can find are for 1/2″. Post your question at http://www.sprinklertalk.com under INSTALLATION ISSUES. There’s some pretty sharp guys there and they’ll help you figure it out.
I plan on installing a sprinkler system off my 1″ main line coming from my well. I plan on using a Wilkins double check backflow preventer but can’t get the same answer from anbody as to where to place the shut off. Before or after the backflow preventer??
Also, is it necessary to use a stop & waste drain for the shut-off??
This is all new to me.
The shut off will go before the back flow preventer. It lets you shut down the entire system if anything goes wrong.
As far as stop & waste drain, they do make it easier to winterize your system.
For a really complete answer, go to http://www.sprinklertalk.com and post your question along with your area. Someone in your area will see it and have more details for you.
I have a Signature 12 station controller that repeats its cycle every time it waters. (It goes through every station and then goes through them again). this leaves the area too wet. How do I stop this?
See if it has more than one program (A, B, C etc.) The problem you describe is usually caused by having the same program on B that it does on A. So A runs, stops, and B kicks in.
I checked that. Both were not set to anything. I also made sure that the dial was not set on cycle. I think that I will set the run times to half what I want and just let it run twice.
i am installing a irrrigation system with 2 controllers hunter x core a 4 zones and a 6 zones in a house and im am trying to install a wss sensor the controllers are no more than 50 meters away one from the other so i think i can install one sensor to work with both controllers, am i ok with this idea?
It’s one of those things where IN THEORY it can be done. All you are doing is completing a circuit. In practice the few times I’ve heard of it being installed it failed. No one ever came back with a reason why.
I have a small flower garden area which is about 3 1/2 feet wide and 8ft long, I have an existing irrigation system in the garden but the heads put out too much water. Is there a nozzle I can use on the 18 inch risers that are currently there?

When my valve turns on water leaks from filter area can u help?
Most valves don’t have a filter. Drip systems often have one downstream of the valve. Which area is leaking?

How do I eliminate the controller from going into a delay mode when it is run operation?
The delay mode is usually part of a soak cycle setting. It is there to prevent run off. There will be an on/off setting on your controller. If you don’t know where it is check http://www.sprinklerwarehouse.com/Irrigation-Product-Manuals-s/779.htm for a manual.
Where can I get a Hunter Pro-C controller repaired?
You probably can’t. They are solid state and there are very few repair stations. Call 760-591-7383 for Hunter support or go to http://www.hunterindustries.com/support/email_support/email to email them.

Hello! Hope you can help me. I’m looking for a portaable 3 in 1 sprinkler system.
18′ hose has 3 in line sprinkler heads. Ann Jerman May 10, 2012
I’m sorry. We have never carried such a system. I’m afraid we don’t have any more knowledge of suppliers than you might.
I have a small flower garden area which is about 3 1/2 feet wide and 8ft long, I have an existing irrigation system in the garden but the heads put out too much water. Is there a nozzle I can use on the 18 inch risers that are currently there?
Your best bet might be to convert to drip. Look at http://www.sprinklerwarehouse.com/Drip-Emitters-s/131.htm for some different emitters.
If you don’t want to go that way, look at http://www.sprinklerwarehouse.com/Rain-Bird-SQ-Series-Nozzles-s/8405.htm, fairly low flow.
Or try http://www.sprinklerwarehouse.com/Hunter-Sprinkler-Rotator-Nozzle-p/mplcs515.htm. Left corner shown but they come in left, right and center. They can be dialed back to fit fairly close to your design. Again, lower flow.
